Florence (Flo) is one of New Zealand's leading independent beauty therapy technical educators and therapists, who is also a researcher and author with a vast experience covering all aspects of professional beauty therapy and paramedical skin care. Florence has a wealth of experience in almost every facet of the beauty and skin care industry, beginning with a technical background in pharmacy. Florence graduated as a CIDESCO qualified therapist and electrologist in 1975, going on to serve her industry apprenticeship as the operator and manager of her own prosperous salons for 11 years. Eager to learn more about the skin from a biological standpoint, Florence spent 2 years as a paramedical technician in the post operative care of burns survivors and plastic surgery patients for an major Auckland hospital, before moving into technical education in 1988.
For the last 12 years, she has been a consultant for a number of leading New Zealand skin care distributors, and a independant beauty therapy tutor. In keeping abreast of technology changes within the industry, she has formulated and manufactured her own unique generic infusion mask, in addition to being an advocate and distributor of hi-tech digital skin analysing equipment. Throughout her career, Florence has been actively researching and re-educating herself with the latest skin biology and cosmetic chemistry information available, and continues to do so as both the director of her own post graduate specialty education, research and resource organisation, Pastiche Resources Ltd.
